Minutes
of the meeting of Feb. 19, 2008
In
attendance: Gary Donald, Deb Kurtzer-Johnston, Bill
Booth, Kathy Whitfield, Tom Crane, Peter Sanguinetti,
Teri Brandt, and Karen Dzupina.
The new
Business Directory booklet was distributed and discussed, and the general
impression was very positive. They are being mailed out within the next two
weeks to all businesses named within it.
Teri
Brandt, of Parry Sound Employment did a presentation on subsidies available for
summer jobs as well as full time employment.
Those
present then discussed what might be the duties of an intern.

Duties for an Intern:
Attending
meeting and promoting both CAEDA and CABC
Attend
trade shows as our representative
Find and
research suitable media to promote the area
Develop a
great interactive website for the Almaguin
area, where visitors could see video of the area, and learn of upcoming
events.
Network
with business owners to understand their needs
Send out
newsletters via email, and publish in local papers
Gary
announced that he will be retiring soon, so the CABC will need to find a new
leader
The next
meeting is scheduled for March 18, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the Sundridge
Community Centre. Meetings are planned for the third Tuesday of each month, up
to and including April.
Meeting
ended at 8:45 p.m.
