The
Business Directory that the Committee developed was the main topic of
discussion: the objective of the booklet; the setbacks; changes. Chris Hundley
suggested that the directory be pocket-size, and Teri Brandt thought a
colourful, glossy booklet would be better. It was decided that the Committee
will reprint the current Directory, with any corrections we have received,
including a new page on which business people can revise their listing. Once
these have been distributed to every known business in the Committee's area,
the final draft will be printed April 1, 2008.
An
interactive website for the Almaguin area was discussed, possibly for the
future, where visitors could see video of the area, and learn of upcoming
events.
Gary
would like to plan an AGM for the the weekend of May 10, with possibly a
dinner, golf tournament, door prizes and more.
Gary
McLaren offered to contact the Business Centre to possibly do a presentation
for the Committee in the future.
Teri
Brandt will get a representative from Parry Sound Employment to talk about
hiring incentives available from the government for employers.
The
next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 19, 2008, at 7 p.m. at the Sundridge
Community Centre. Meetings are planned for the third Tuesday of each month, up
to and including April.
Meeting
ended at 8:45 p.m.
